Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is born in Romania and is a Romanian actress as well as a television host. She is best known for her role as the protagonist of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. The only daughter of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into showbiz early and landed up being the lead in a variety of television dramas by the time she was just 16. Her fame was due to her performance on Der Tunnel. This paved the way for more memorable roles, including Adolf Hitler's secretariat Traudl Junge. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominees featuring female stars. Alexandra has been involved in numerous notable national and international projects over time. This includes the British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historical miniseries Napoleon in addition to other projects. Additionally, she was an active member of the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
